Hand-cocking the crossbow is not difficult as long as you follow these steps:
- Place the stirrup on the ground and step into it.
- Take hold of the string on either side of the stock. You can keep your thumbs alongside the barrel to help guide the string.
- Hold your arms straight, stand up, and make sure that you place pressure evenly on both sides.
- Pull the string back until it locks in place.
If you have a rope-cocking mechanism, it is a similar process but you will be using the ropes to cock the crossbow.
